# How to change your login email or transfer admin access

Learn how to update your own login email address or transfer the primary Admin role to a colleague within your Lusha account.

Your Lusha account security and workspace ownership are tied to your primary login email address. Whether you need to update your email due to a company rebranding or transfer full Admin control to a new stakeholder, this guide explains how to manage these changes safely.

## **Changing Your Personal Login Email**

Any user role (Admin, Manager, or User) can change their own login email address directly from their account settings, provided the new email domain matches your company's workspace rules.

1. Log in to your Lusha dashboard.
2. Click your profile avatar or initials in the top right corner and select **Account Settings**.
3. Go to the **Personal Details** section.
4. Locate your current email address and click **Edit** (or the pencil icon ✏️).
5. Enter your new business email address and your current Lusha password to verify the change.
6. Click **Save**.

> ⚠️ **Important Verification Step:** Lusha will automatically send a verification link to your **new email address**. You must open that email and click the verification link to activate the change. Until you verify the new email, your old email address remains active for logging in.

## **Transferring Admin Access to Another User**

If you are the primary Admin and need to hand over workspace ownership, billing control, and user management to a colleague, you can transfer your Admin rights.

### **Prerequisites for a Smooth Transfer**

* You must currently hold the **Admin** role to change role assignments.
* The person receiving Admin access **must already be an active user** on your Lusha team account. If they aren't on the team yet, invite them via the *Team Management* tab first.

### **Step-by-Step Role Transfer**

1. Go to **Account Settings** by clicking your avatar in the top right corner.
2. Select the **Team Management** tab from the left-hand navigation menu.
3. Scroll through your user table to find the colleague who will take over.
4. In their user row, click the dropdown under the **Role** column.
5. Change their role assignment to **Admin**.

1. A confirmation modal will appear, warning you about the administrative access rights being granted. Click **Confirm**.
2. *(Optional)* If you are leaving the team or changing your own responsibilities, locate your own name in the table and use the role dropdown to demote yourself to a **Manager** or **User**, or remove your seat entirely if you are offboarding.

> 💡 **Note:** Lusha accounts support **multiple Admins**. Promoting a colleague to Admin does not automatically strip away your Admin access unless you choose to downgrade your own role afterward.

## **Frequently Asked Questions**

#### **What if my colleague's email address belongs to a completely different domain?**

For security reasons, Lusha restricts team workspaces to verified company domains. If you need to transfer ownership to an external consultant, partner agency, or an acquired entity with a separate domain, please reach out to Lusha Support directly to process a secure backend transfer.

#### **I am locked out because the original Admin left the company. What do I do?**

If your primary Admin left without transferring access and you cannot access their inbox to trigger a password reset, your IT department will need to grant you access to that inbox temporarily, or your company's authorized contract signer must contact Lusha Support with official proof of corporate ownership to request a manual override.
