Time Zone Filter: Reach Contacts in Working Hours

View as Markdown

The Time zone filter lets you build a contact table around the clock your prospects actually live in. Instead of guessing which contacts are at their desk, you can filter by a named time zone, by the contact's own local time, or return only contacts who are currently inside working hours.

Until now the closest option was filtering by Location, which doesn't line up with time zones — one country can span several zones, and one zone can span several countries. Time zone filters by the thing that actually decides whether someone picks up.

How to use the Time zone filter

  1. Open the Workspace filter panel and click Filter contacts
  2. In the filter panel, open the CONTACTS group
  3. Select Time zone
  4. Choose how you want to filter:
    • Timezone — pick a location, for example Chicago, Illinois
    • Local time — filter by the contact's own clock instead of a named zone
  5. To return only contacts who are at their desk right now, tick Working Hours Only and set a Start and End range

Results refresh in the table on the right as you apply the filter. Time zone stacks with Job title, Seniority, Location and the rest of your filters, and you can clear it at any time.

Key concepts

  • Timezone — a named zone selected by location. Use this when you're building a call block for a specific region.
  • Local time — the contact's own clock. Use this when you care about the hour a contact is in, regardless of which named zone produces it.
  • Working Hours Only — a toggle that returns only contacts whose current local time falls inside the Start and End range you set. Lusha does the time-zone math for you, so you don't have to calculate it row by row.

💡 Note: The Time zone filter is currently available in the Workspace search filter panel only. It is not yet available in the Lusha API or the Lusha MCP server.

How it fits your workflow

Cold calling depends on local time. A rep working a morning block needs contacts who are also in their morning — not people about to sit down to dinner. Use Time zone to:

  • Build a table for the hours you're actually dialing, so a call block matches your day
  • Prioritize contacts who are reachable now with Working Hours Only
  • Target a region precisely, without relying on country or city as a stand-in for the clock

Now you're ready to dial the people who are actually at their desk.
