Automatic Credit Top-Up adds credits to your account when your balance drops to a threshold you define. You choose when a top-up is triggered, how many credits to purchase, and how many automatic purchases are allowed per billing cycle.
This article walks you through setting up Auto Top-Up, understanding your spend controls, and managing the feature over time.
Automatic Credit Top-Up is available on Starter, Pro, and Premium plans. It is not available on Free Trial or Scale/Enterprise accounts. Only account Admins can configure this feature.
Make sure your account has a saved payment method. Auto Top-Up cannot be enabled without one.
To add a card, go to My Account → Payments & Subscription → Payment Method → Add card.
- Go to My Account in the top navigation bar.
- Click the Payments & Subscription tab.
- Find the Auto top-up section and click Set up.
- Set your Trigger Threshold in the setup modal — the credit balance at which an automatic purchase fires.

💡 Note: The minimum trigger threshold is 200 credits. It cannot be set to 0. The credits remaining above the threshold act as a buffer while payment processes, so your team experiences no interruption.
Select the credit amount to purchase from the dropdown. Available bundles match Lusha's standard top-up packages. The equivalent dollar cost is calculated and displayed automatically — this field is read-only.

Set your Cycle top-up limit — the maximum number of automatic purchases allowed per billing cycle. The system displays the maximum you can select based on your plan.
- The minimum is 1 top-up per cycle.
- The "Up to $X / cycle" figure shown next to this field is the maximum you could be charged if every allowed top-up fires. This field is read-only.
💡 Note: For monthly plans, the billing cycle is your monthly billing cycle date (subscription start date). For annual plans, it's the full annual period.
- Confirm your saved payment method is correct.
- Click Save & Enable.
💡 Note: Once enabled, Auto Top-Up remains active at renewal unless you actively turn it off.

When your balance reaches the trigger threshold, Lusha checks two conditions before charging:
- Your cycle top-up limit has not been reached.
- At least 12 hours have passed since the last auto top-up (a built-in anti-fraud safeguard).
If both conditions are met, the purchase fires automatically. Credits are added to your account as soon as payment is confirmed. You'll receive:
- An email with the amount charged, credits added, and a link to manage your settings.
- An in-platform notification with a direct link to your Auto Top-Up settings.

Each auto top-up purchase generates an invoice that appears in your Payments & Subscription page alongside your other billing history.
Once you've reached the maximum number of automatic top-ups for your billing cycle, Auto Top-Up pauses until your next billing cycle begins. You'll receive an email and an in-platform notification.
If your account runs out of credits while Auto Top-Up is paused, you'll need to purchase credits manually or upgrade your plan to continue using Lusha.
⚠️ Important: If your team runs out of credits while Auto Top-Up is paused, they will see the standard credit limit pop-up and won't be able to use Lusha until credits are added.

You can change any part of your configuration at any time:
- Go to My Account → Payments & Subscription.
- In the Auto top-up section, click Set up (or the edit option if already configured).
- Update your settings and save — changes take effect immediately.
To turn it off, toggle Auto top-up to the off position. You'll see a confirmation: "Auto top-up has been disabled. Your team will not receive automatic credit top-ups."
If the automatic charge fails (for example, due to an expired card), no credits are added. You'll receive the standard billing failure email with a link to update your payment method.
Auto Top-Up remains enabled and will try again the next time your credit balance reaches the configured threshold.
You're all set! Once enabled, Automatic Credit Top-Ups run automatically based on the settings you've configured. You can update or disable them at any time.
