# Getting Started with Lusha for Slack

Learn how to install the Lusha Slack app and use it to find contacts and company data without leaving your workspace.

The Lusha Slack app brings contact and company data directly into Slack. You can run quick lookups with slash commands or have a conversation with the Lusha Agent to find decision-makers, enrich contacts, and push data to your CRM — all without switching tabs.

## What the Lusha Slack App Includes

The app has two capabilities in a single install:

- **Lusha Agent** — a conversational agent you can @mention in any channel or DM. Ask it to find contacts, summarize account activity, or identify decision-makers in plain English.
- **Slash Commands** — `/lusha` for contact lookups and `/lusha_company` for company snapshots.


## Before You Start

- An active Lusha account (Free plan or above)
- Workspace Admin access in Slack (for the initial install)
- The install is free — it works with your existing Lusha credit balance


## How to Install Lusha for Slack

1. **Click Add to Slack** from the Lusha for Slack page. This opens the standard Slack OAuth authorization flow.
2. **Authorize the app** in your Slack workspace. One admin install covers the entire workspace — no per-user setup required.
3. **Sign in with your existing Lusha credentials.** Your credit balance and watch-list sync automatically.


You're set up when you see the Lusha app appear in your Slack Apps sidebar. The whole process takes under 2 minutes.

## Using Slash Commands

### /lusha — Contact Lookup

Type `/lusha [name] at [company]` in any channel or DM. For example: `/lusha Jane Smith at Stripe`.

Lusha returns a contact card with name, title, company, and LinkedIn URL. The results are ephemeral — only you can see them.

To reveal contact details, click **Reveal email & phone** or choose to reveal email or phone individually. Each reveal costs 1 credit. Search is always free.

> **Note:** Results are visible only to you. No contact data is stored by the Slack app layer.


### /lusha_company — Company Snapshot

Type `/lusha_company [company name]` to pull a company overview: headcount, industry, tech stack, and funding stage.

Company lookups are free — no credits are consumed.

## Using the Lusha Agent

The Lusha Agent responds to natural-language queries. Type `@Lusha` in any channel or DM to start.

**Things you can ask the agent:**

- Find the VP of Sales at a specific company
- Summarize recent signals for a target account
- Identify decision-makers at a company
- Run a bulk contact or company search


The agent keeps thread context, so you can ask follow-up questions within the same conversation.

> **Note:** The Lusha Agent can push enriched contacts directly to Salesforce or HubSpot if your CRM integration is already configured in your Lusha account.


## AI Model Disclosure

The Lusha Agent uses large language models to interpret your queries and structure results. Here's what each provider receives:

| OpenAI (GPT-5.4 mini) | Your query text and prior thread messages in the same conversation. No contact PII or credit data. |
| Lusha API | Structured search parameters from your query. Contact data is returned directly to you — never to the LLM. |

## Privacy & Security

- **No PII stored** — Contact data passes through in memory only. Nothing is logged or persisted in the Slack app layer.
- **Minimal OAuth scopes** — Only `chat:write`, `commands`, and `im:history`. No access to workspace message history.
- **Encrypted API tokens** — Your Lusha API token is encrypted at rest and revocable from App Home → Settings at any time.
- **Regional compliance** — US contact data restrictions are enforced at the API level.
