# Update your Shown Contacts

When Lusha detects that a contact's information has changed - a new job title, company name, or data point - it automatically flags the record with a purple **Updated** indicator. You can then review what changed and apply the update to your tables and CRM in one click, at no extra credit cost.

Updated data appears automatically in Search, the Extension, Alerts, and the Company page. Once you apply the update in any of those places, your Lusha tables will also reflect the latest data.

## How the updated indicator works

Any contact with a changed company name, job title, or data point will show a purple **Updated** badge next to their name. This badge is visible in Table view and the side panel — and is shown to all users in your account, regardless of who originally revealed the contact.

💡 Note: In the current tables product, contacts continue to display previously shown data until you manually update them via Search, the Extension, or the Company page.

## How to update your contact table

Run a search in the [Search Platform](https://dashboard.lusha.com/prospecting/contacts). If a previously revealed contact has new data, you'll see the purple **Updated** badge next to their name. Click it to see exactly what changed — both the old and new values — and to apply the update to your table.

💡 Note: If a data point was previously edited manually, updating the table will overwrite the manually entered value with the new Lusha data.

Once the update is applied, the **Updated** badge is removed.

## How to update your CRM

After updating a contact in Lusha, a red dot will appear for contact owners and Admins indicating that the CRM record also needs to be updated. Click it to push the new data to your connected CRM.

💡 Note: If a contact's data has been updated in Lusha but you haven't yet applied it to the table, and you then export to CRM or add the contact to a sequence, the system will automatically update both the table and the CRM simultaneously. You'll receive a notification confirming this.

Updating the CRM will remove the red dot indicator.

## FAQs

**Can I exclude manually updated data from table updates?**
Yes — you can choose to exclude manually edited data when applying an update, and that data will remain unchanged.

**How are multiple rows of the same contact handled?**
For contacts with multiple current job titles, all rows are updated to reflect the shown contact's latest data.

**Does the Updated badge expire?**
No — it stays until you apply the update. Once you click Update table or Update CRM, the badge is removed.

**Does it cost extra credits?**
No. Updating shown contacts is free and does not consume credits, even if new data points like phone numbers become available.

**Is there a limit to the number of updates per contact?**
No — contacts can be updated an unlimited number of times without any additional charge.

**Where is the "Hide previously shown contacts" filter in search?**
This filter lets you exclude contacts you've already revealed from your search results — useful when you want to find net-new contacts only. If you're not seeing it in the search filters panel, it may be displayed under a different label in your current version of the platform. To find it: open the [Search Platform](https://dashboard.lusha.com/prospecting/contacts), expand the filter panel on the left, and look for a filter related to "Shown contacts" or "Previously revealed." You can also go to **tables** to see all contacts you've already revealed and cross-reference manually. If the filter is not visible in your account, contact [Lusha Support](https://www.lusha.com/contact/) — our team can confirm the current filter name and location for your plan.

Your contact data stays accurate and ready to use — no manual research needed.
